Bibendum Oyster Bar

bibendum

The setting is informal, with tiles and pictures depicting great races of the past, and the mood is relaxed, luxurious but not pretentious. There is little need for an excuse to visit, a quick glass of wine with or without a nibble; an after-work cocktail; a lunch of half a dozen oysters and a glass of champagne; or a leisurely lunch or dinner with a vast plateau de fruits de mer, dessert, cheese and coffee. Friendly staff are on hand to advise on oyster choice and the extensive wine list. While the focus is on shellfish, there are other seafood options, non-fishy terrines and salads, and vegetarian alternatives.

J Sheekey Fish and Sea Food Restaurant

J Sheekey

In the heart of Covent Garden, J Sheekey is a fish and seafood restaurant offering the finest fish, oysters, shellfish and other fruits de mer. Discreetly tucked away on St Martin’s Court between Charing Cross Road and St Martin’s Lane, J Sheekey is a stone’s throw from many of the West End’s theatres, the cinemas of Leicester Square. Its decor, a sea of marble, mosaic, and lacquered wood panel, conjures decades of history. Five years ago, the restaurant added a more informal oyster bar with outdoor dining. J. Sheekey’s tranquil vibe is an oasis of calm amid bustling central London. Sex Drugs and Bacon Rolls review of J Sheekey
